Artist Statement: "Art for me has been a way to transcend many boundaries,
both social and cultural. It appeals to my humanity, inspires a heightened
sensitivity to life and gives quality to my experiences."

Kate Sammons has been a steadily growing phenomenon in the past years.
Born in Seoul, Korea, adopted in the US, she still calls Urbana-Champaign, IL
her hometown. Her early interest in culture developed a deep appreciation for
diversity and drove her to seek common ground in art. From the beginning,
it was clear that she had a particular aptitude for portraiture and still life with
early recognition from the esteemed Portrait Society of America and The Artist's
Magazine. Recently lauded for her prize winning work in exhibition halls as
widely recognized as the National Portrait Gallery, she is becoming regarded
among collectors and art lovers worldwide.
