Instruction

Kate Sammons Studio offers a highly unique and adaptive method of teaching that aims at developing mastery and confidence in drawing and painting, while building upon a student’s existing creative goals and previous knowledge. The curriculum is designed to work for every experience level and is flexible to meet a variety of individual conditions. Instruction is arranged on a person to person basis between Kate Sammons and the student. With regard to the level of commitment of the student, the teacher will be able to address each one of their goals and create a workable solution that will fit their needs. The initial sign up for tuition is $750 for 10 weeks.  Kate Sammons Studio can accommodate only a very small number of students and applications are being reviewed on a first come first serve basis. To apply, please submit an application and state your availability to begin instruction. The teacher will contact you to arrange an interview and visit to the studio.

Kate Sammons goals for instruction are as follows:  Identification, description and resolution of individual problems in a student’s drawing and painting approach using exercises and personal creative project assignments as a guide. (Can be portraits, still life or landscape.) Encouraging and building the creativity and confidence of the student to fulfill their artistic vision with an increasing amount of independence and self sufficiency.

Please see the brochure pdf below or the drawing and painting menu options under instruction for further descriptions of the program and some examples of exercises and projects that may be encountered.
