Like these waves on the California Coast of Santa Monica continually sweeping in...Happiness just keeps washing over me. I am thinking of the time my generation of women put in on making sure our kids had the best possible education. Many of us teachers ...cause that is what women did in the 50s-60s...many of us first degree holders in our families.....and oh my has it paid off. Now that I have the time to study again, the young teachers that my generation educated are at the forefront of my chosen field....and let me tell you they are not just educated they are EDUCATED they not only teach art but they swim in it!....of course I am talking about Kate Sammons. This week I have watched her not give in to my age, nor my physical shortcomings, not give in to my 1970 BFA......she has pursued with great courage her beliefs. I have spent the week....pages and pages.....pencils and pencils of scales. I was right, when I first saw Kate Sammons portrait of Emma on the internet....I was overcome....each day in my mind Emma brought me gifts.....the ultimate gift of course was KATE SAMMONS This morning I was overwhelmed by a swell of happiness.
